Prototyping & Engineering
The engineering department at Deltec provides documentation support, file management, part development, layouts and CNC programming services to the shop floor. All of the CNC program files are centrally located on a server and downloaded directly to the CNC machines as required.
Laser technology allows the engineer to optimize the design of the components, rather than worrying about the manufacturing constraints of more traditional manufacturing methods. Due to the nature of laser technology, it is safe to say that if the part can be described mathematically, it can be laser cut (within material & machine limitations).
CNC punching is an important option for generating sheet metal blanks. Punching is an inherently faster operation that lends itself to applications that have many similar features or where there is a higher volume of parts per run.
The bending department utilizes fully programmable, multi-axis press brakes and a large complement of precision punches & dies. With 4ft., 10ft. & 14ft., bed lengths and up to 240 tons, Deltec has capability to fill a broad range of bending requirements.
The machining department supplies the shop with components as well as finished parts. Deltec’s in house machining capabilities allow us greater scheduling flexibility, as well as control over the quality of the finished parts.
The weldment is where components become the finished part. At this point, there is no substitute for quality welding. Our full-time welding staff is experienced in fit up and assembly of materials that include: stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminum alloys, nickel based alloys and copper.
The finishing department is responsible for restoring the esthetic appearance of the fabricated and welded components. The process of deburring, grinding welds and restoring finishes includes the use of large equipment as well as small hand held grinders and polishers.
Deltec offers a full service powder coating department that can apply powder coat to large and small parts. The process is designed to produce the highest quality finish to the greatest variety of part sizes and shapes. Powder coating produces a high specification coating which is very durable and abrasion resistant.
